Kit flight of Birmingham rollers represents the most attractive and the most popular kind of competition.It is widely spreaded, all over the world, but the most fans live in America and England. Competitors gather together around the planetary coupe- “World Cup Fly” which is the most prestigeable competition with this breed of rollers , and to be a competitor and a winner at this competition is a great honour and satisfaction for each breeder. Every country is represented by champion of the state competition which is kept between 15 competitors.

The competition lasts a couple of months, and during that time, the judge (World Cup’s champion for last year) goes all around the world to see competitors from all the continents.There is only one judge for all competitors, and he spends two days with each competitor.During these two days, the competitor decides by himself when he is going to let his flock fly.

The kit consists of 15 to 20 pigeons which must fly all together in the flock, and the more pigeons start rolling at the same time, the better results they can achieve.(at least five of them at the same time).The depth of the roll must be at least 5 metres. If 5-9 pigeons roll at the same time , your scores multiply with 1, if 10-14 pigeons roll at the same time , your scores multiply with 2, and if 15-19 pigeons roll at the same time , your scores multiply with 3.In the case that all 20 pigeons roll at the same time, your scores multiply with 5, which is a very rare situation, you can get bonus of 200 scores.

On the scores you won, they add coefficient from 1 to 2, which depends on quality and the depth of the roll’s .The competitor is allowed to have two breaks , 5 minutes each, or only one braak in duration of 10 minutes.  The breaks can also be demanded by the judge.

Since the moment he has let pigeons out the cage, the competitor is allowed to announce the beginning of scoring to the judge.He has 5 minutes to do that, and when these 5 minutes pass, scoring begins authomatically.

In the case of setting apart two pigeons from the flock, the game is automatically interrupted, untill at least one of them comes back to the flock.If two pigeons fly down too early, or fall down out the control ( onto the ground, roof, tree…) scoring must be interrupted, and if that happens until 15 minutes hasn’t expired , the kit must be disqualified.Scoring lasts 20 minutes.The kit must be very well prepared, to give its best for 20 minutes of competition, but that  can only be achieved by constant trainings and adequate food.

Roller Club of Serbia has organised the first State Championship for kit flight of Birmingham rollers in 2005. Seven competitors participated at that competition and the judge was Heine Bijker,the best competitor in the world.
